Home Sew Aspley  is your Sewing Machine Sales & Service Centre in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.  We are a family owned business since 1974 and have a passion about sewing and your sewing needs.

Your sewing machine is an investment just like a car and just like a car needs to be regularly serviced to ensure it is working at it’s best.

Like a car a machine needs to be lubricated, cleaned and tuned and this requires specialist service manuals that only a qualified repairer is licenced to use.

FAQS

How often should I have my machine serviced?

If you are sewing frequently or your machine has been sitting around for awhile then you should have it serviced once a year.  This frequency may change if you are having problems with your machine and you are using it very often.

What does a service entail?

There are a lot of things that can go wrong with a machine and every machine is different.  Things like tension are a very common problem and require adjusting to the manufacturers specifications.  That is why our machine repairers are certified.

Could I do my own repairs?

This is not advisable.  If your machine is under warranty then you can void the warranty with the manufacturer.  This  is because manufacturers work with certified technicians and provide specialist training material so that the servicing is correctly adhered to.

What if my machine is really old?  Should I get it serviced?

If your machine is really old then it may not be worth repairing the machine.  This of course depends on whether you have an entry level sewing machine or a top of the range embroidery and quilting machine.  The more expensive machines are there for the long haul and are generally well worth servicing.  Speak to our experts or get a quote and we can advise you what would be the best approach.

Do I need to book in?

If you have your machine you can drop it off instore and we can give you a estimate of  cost before any major work is done.  Booking is not necessary, but may help ensure that your machine gets attended to earlier.

If you do decide to look at a new machine, then you’ll find a great range of sewing machine and overlockers:
  • Pfaff
  • Singer
  • Husqvarna Viking
  • Janome
  • Baby Lock
  • Handi Quilter
